Please join us for a discussion on policing and communities of color with Ronald E. Hampton, Chair of the Police Reform and Accountability Task Force.

Ronald E. Hampton retired from the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department after twenty-three years of service as a Community Relations Office. In the years since, he has built a reputation as a tireless advocate for reforming police practices and creating real connections between communities of color and successful police practices.

Over the years, he has assisted the Department of Justice’s Community Relations Services with community relations and crime prevention projects. He has also worked with the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty and has lectured at the American University’s Washington Semester School Criminal Justice Program. In addition, along with other educators/trainers, he developed an anti-racism and organizational change program for Amnesty International USA.

Mr. Hampton also has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Board of the Drug Policy Foundations’ Law Enforcement Committee; American Civil Liberties Union, NCA, Amnesty International USA, Institute of the Black World 21st Century, and the Advisory Committees, Capital Punishment Project and the National Police Accountability Project.
